Soko Chen

Hi, I’m Shoukang Chen. I’m an animator and visual artist based in Melbourne, currently studying Animation, Games and Interactivity at RMIT.

I’m interested in how feelings, bodily experiences and digital systems can be turned into moving images. My work moves between 3D animation, experimental film, sound, interactive media and installation, often using transformation and visual metaphor to make familiar things feel a little strange.

I also enjoy taking moving image beyond the screen, experimenting with real-time media, spatial work and collaboration. I like making things that sit somewhere between animation, dream, game and physical experience.
